GXmark is a free benchmarking utility to evaluate and compare gaming performances of different devices.
How do I interpret the bar charts ?
The numbers represent durations in milliseconds for a given test.
The longer a bar is the better.
How do I interpret the FlipScreen timing ?
Flipscreen timing is the time it takes to copy a full screen image from main memory to the real display.
This delay is critical for games because it set the frame rate upper limit.
Some hardware providers have choosen to use specific graphics chips such as the ATi imageon or the MediaQ mq1132 or mq1178.
The timing is bad on some PocketPC such as some Toshiba, Dell Axim, HP5450 because they do not use the LCD driver embedded in the main processor, they use an external graphic chip, ATI imageon for the toshiba and MediaQ mq1132 or mq1178 for the Dell and HP5450, and those chip are SLOW !
They consumes less power than the internal LCD driver but are way slower for the FlipScreen operation.
What is considered acceptable performance ?
A GXmark index of 1000 mean that your device will be fast enough to run int13 games smoothly.
How can I compare gaming performances of my device with others ?
All results are in this page.
We are collecting results reports from users on this thread.
My device is not in your listing, how can I send its results ?
