Samsung, no doubt about it. They’re known for their corruption, under-handed tactics, poor business management, and working their poor employees to the absolute bone.

I for one won’t be buying ANY Samsung products in the future. Go with LG or Apple instead.

What a nightmare experience – sounds like the Russians in the days of the Cold War. Could make a good movie tho – and you’ve clearly got a great sense of humour & acting ability (re teapot!) Clearly Samsung just doesn’t GET what Social Media is all about … Travel bloggers & good Social Media users build up trust & respect thru being genuine & good communicators. Samsung seems to think this is something that usung control & force will make happen. Good for you for writing this post, acting more professionally than they did by not mentioning the client name, and for enabling your readers to name & shame!

Sounds like an awful experience. I guess it all comes down to expectations, though. If you knew what you were getting yourself into, then there’s nothing to complain about. But if you feel like you were tricked into working full-time when you were actually promised something else, then that’s just extremely unprofessional (and potentially illegal) by the company.

Samsung and the South Koreans have really embarrassed themselves here. Maybe this sort of behavior is acceptable in South Korea, with employees berating other employees, but not here. I am surprised you stood it for so long. London was fantastic during the Olympic games, I am sorry you did not get to see it much. I will be avoiding Samsung products in the future.

I have been living in Korea (as a foreigner ) for several years. I find their mentality very weird and I hate my boss.

As a Britt I am saddened you and your follow « winners » did get a proper chance to experience both London and the Olympics properly. It is such a shame that something that could have been so good went so wrong and backfired for all. A search on Google shows you are not alone and with luck Cheil will stay true to there word and take your feedback on board so to not to inflict the same experience on others.

I am not a lawyer but I think it is highly doubtful that an NDA which you didn’t receive a copy of would be enforcable at least in the UK.

Secondly the UK has a minimum wage and a working time directive (as does France I believe) and it sounds from from the description that you were treated like an employee and you may actually have been one. Might be worth speaking to a lawyer as they may owe you pay for your services.
